52% start confident they will succeed at their resolution.
12% achieve their goals.
One would have to be pretty motivated to nuke the New Year's odds. I say - no matter how bad they may be it is always better to have odds... than to be odd.
Let's hear them - best New Year's Resolutions?

first of all ... i love, love, LOVE the pic of jake! hilarious!!!
i have two resolutions:
(1)go to confession every month
(2)to continue my daily prayer routines and add on two more
how about you, kate?
I believe resolutions are like diets: well-intentioned but temporary and resulting generally in more harm than good.
Instead of going on a diet, people should commit to a more healthy lifestyle that includes a better, more nutritious (and organic) diet. Same thing with resolutions.
Rather than a resolution I have commitments. I'm committed to being a better person through Christ, the best person I can be. I'm committed to my craft, my writing and getting that, finally, off the ground. I am committed to my fiance, to being the best partner and husband-to-be that I can be. And, most importantly, I am committed to making her laugh every day and letting her know every single day just how loved she is.
Those are my commitments.
only 12% achieve their new year resolutions because they set massive goals for the WHOLE YEAR and never get there! you need to think micro-goals.. we should do New Month resolutions, not new years.
my new years resolution was to come up with 3 new years resolutions so I would have interesting answers to the inevitable "so, what is your new years resolution this year?" I achieved this on day one of the new year and feel great about it. i'm already thinking about possible next years resolutions!!
